Dave Cooper, Psychotherapist
Personal treatment philosophy:
"A counsellor is not just someone who listens but someone who really hears what is being said by the client. Not to offer advice but to ask questions that help you to explore your experience in a new way, supporting you as you learn more about yourself."
Dave Cooper has been a psychotherapist in private practice for over fifteen years. He has worked in the areas of mental health and counselling for close to thirty years.
As a registered Family Therapist with the UKCP, David Cooper regularly sees families and couples, as well as individuals. Even when he works with individuals on a one on one basis, he understands that when it comes to helping his client, the answer almost always lies in the family background and childhood experiences.
Dave Cooper is well-practised with therapeutic tools such as a family systemic therapy, Imago couples therapy, Gestalt and NLP.
Dave Cooper has experience and expertise in helping those with addictions and their families. Whether it’s drug addiction alcoholism or sex addiction, or any other form of addiction, He can help individuals and their loved ones navigate their way through crisis periods.
Often working with couples, Dave Cooper makes sure each person feels listened to and understood, ensuring a way forward through seemingly unsurmountable difficulties.
Dave Cooper brings his wealth of experience and knowledge to head up a new specialist detox unit, Serena House, located in the heart of London.
