Medical Qualifications

Mr Asif Muneer gained a Bachelor of Science honours degree in 1991 from The University of Manchester and went on to qualify with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree from the same university. He was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh and Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in 1998.

He completed his Medical Doctorate in 2006 for his work on smooth muscle dysfunction carried out at the Wolfson Institute, University College London; for this he was awarded a specialist fellowship in Urology from the Royal College of Surgeons.

Medical Experience

Mr Asif Muneer is a Consultant Urological Surgeon and Andrologist at University College London Hospital.

Following completion of Higher Surgical Training in Oxford, Mr Muneer undertook further clinical visiting fellowships to the University of Bern, Switzerland and the University of Paris, France. Alongside these, Mr Muneer has been awarded a number of travelling fellowships including a fellowship at the Netherlands Cancer Institute in Amsterdam enabling him to establish a sentinel lymph node biopsy programme for penile cancer at University College London Hospital.

Mr Muneer is currently an executive committee member for the British Andrology Society and a member of the Andrology section of the British Association of Urological Surgeons. Mr Muneer lectures and teaches both nationally and internationally, and has published a number of books and articles on the topics of andrology and men's health.

Mr Muneer subspecialises in andrology and rare genital cancers with a particular interest in the surgical correction of Peyronie's disease and reconstruction for penile cancer. He also specialises in the treatment of erectile dysfunction and male infertility as well as penile preserving surgery, robot-assisted surgery for undescended testicles and microdissection sperm retrieval. He treats private patients at The Harley Street Clinic and The Princess Grace Hospital and is also available for medicolegal reports.
