Medical Qualifications

Dr Mark Patrick John Vanderpump qualified with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree from the University Of Birmingham Medical School in 1987. He went on to train in general medicine and endocrinology at posts in the West Midlands, North East England and North Staffordshire.

Medical Experience

Dr Vanderpump is a Consultant Physician and Honorary Senior Lecturer in Diabetes and Endocrinology at the Royal Free Hampstead NHS Trust, London, where he was previously a Clinical Director. Prior to this he was a Consultant Endocrinologist at the North Middlesex Hospital NHS Trust. Dr Vanderpump recently became a Trustee of the British Thyroid Foundation and has published on the subject of thyroid disease. He served on the Executive Committee of the British Thyroid Association from 2002–2008.

Dr Vanderpump’s main area of expertise is thyroid disease but his clinical practice incorporates all aspects of diabetes and endocrinology. He is available for private patients at the Lister Hospital, London.
