Mr Gordon Buchanan, Consultant Colorectal and General Surgeon
Medical Qualifications
Mr Gordon Buchanan qualified from St Thomas’ Hospital, London and carried out subsequent training in colorectal and general surgery in southeast England. His higher surgical colorectal training was undertaken at St Mark’s and St Thomas’ hospitals, London and Mount Sinai Hospital, Toronto, Canada. Mr Buchanan has experience in laparoscopic appendectomy, laparoscopic cholecystectomy, laparoscopic hernia repair and laparoscopic colorectal resection both for benign and malignant conditions due to training fellowships in Colchester and Yeovil.
Medical Experience and Training
Mr Buchanan has carried out research into colorectal surgery and has published scientific research papers on anorectal conditions and fistula-in-ano. He specialises in laparoscopic inguinal, ventral incisional and umbilical hernia repair.
He is a North-West Thames Council Member for the Association of Coloproctology of Great Britain and Ireland and is available for private consultations at the Gilmore Groin and Hernia Clinic at 108, Harley Street, London.
