Dr Ian Drever, General Adult Psychiatrist

Personal treatment philosophy:

"I believe that medicine is a partnership between patient and professional, working together to formulate individual strategies for recovery and wellbeing. I am committed to making consultations a relaxed, positive experience, with a focus on listening and quiet reflection."

Medical Qualifications

Dr Ian Drever qualified with Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery in 1991 from Aberdeen University and became a Member of the Royal College of Psychiatrists in 2000. From 1996 - 2003 he trained on the St George's Hospital Training Rotation.

Medical Experience and Training

Dr Drever has experience in a wide range of roles within General Adult Psychiatry, both in community and inpatient settings, working with a range of healthcare professionals. He is currently a General Adult Psychiatrist in private practice at the Priory Hospital, Woking, Surrey.

He has a particular interest in the residential treatment of depression, anxiety, stress and alcohol use, and has developed a range of treatment packages for these disorders. Residential treatment has much to offer, due to the intensity of clinical input which can be provided, and the consequent speed of response. Dr Drever is focused on building his practice around these packages, and connecting with people who recognise that they are not feeling as well as they would like, but who may never have previously considered the option of residential treatment.
