    Medical Qualifications

    Professor Margaret Johnson graduated with MB BS (Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery) and MD (Medical Doctor) from the University of London and achieved Fellowship of the Royal College of Physicians. She went on to undertake higher specialist training in General Medicine, Respiratory Medicine and HIV Medicine.

    Medical Experience and Training

    Professor Johnson has been a Consultant in Respiratory Medicine at the Royal Free Hospital, London for 22 years and has extensive experience in treating Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease (COPD), asthma, interstitial lung disease and lung cancer. She helped set up, and is currently Clinical Director of, the Royal Free HIV Clinic the first open access HIV clinic in the UK which currently cares for over 3000 patients. 

    Her specialist interests include HIV-related respiratory problems, pneumonia, tuberculosis and other respiratory infections.

    Prof Johnson is also a Professor of Medicine (personal chair) at University College London.
