    Treatment of meralgia paraesthetica

Meralgia paraesthetica involves compression to the nerves in the outer thigh causing numbness or burning thigh pain; this can arise from a variety of factors including injury, tight clothing and weight gain. Meralgia paraesthetica can usually be resolved by identifying and removing the cause of the pain, however if the pain is severe and persistent, treatment may be required. Meralgia paraesthetica may also be referred to as a pinched nerve in the thigh, or Bernhardt-Roth syndrome.
