Medical Qualifications

Mr Jambulingam graduated with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree from the University of Madras, India in 1991 before receiving a Master's of General Surgery at the Tamil Nadu Dr. M.G.R. Medical University, India in 1994. Mr Jambulingam is a Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons, Edinburgh having obtained his FRCS in 1996 and FRCS (General Surgery) in 2004.

Medical Experience

Mr Jambulingam has specialised in gastrointestinal surgery including weightloss and obesity surgery alongside treatment for upper gastrointestinal tract cancers. He is part of a specialist team offering weight loss surgery at the Centre of Obesity Research at the Luton and Dunstable Hospital for the East of England. He has attended bariatric training courses in Hull, Taunton, Bruges in Belgium and UPMC, Pittsburgh. He performs laparoscopic gastric banding, sleeve gastrectomy and gastric roux-en-Y bypass in a multi-disciplinary team setting.

He is also an expert in the procedures of endoscopy and laparoscopy and specialises in keyhole surgery for gallstones, hernias and anti-reflux surgery. He performs minimally invasive oesophagectomies (MIO) and gastrectomies for cancers and GIST tumours.

Mr Jambulingam is a Member of the Association of Upper GI Surgeons of Great Britain and Ireland (AUGIS), the British Obesity and Metabolic Surgery Society (BOMSS), and the International Federation for the Surgery of Obesity and Metabolic Disorders (IFSO).

He treats NHS patients at the Luton and Dunstable Hospital NHS Foundation Trust, West Hertfordshire NHS Trust and his private practice is at the Spire Hospital in Harpenden, Hertfordshire; Spire Hospital in Bushey, Hertfordshire and the Cobham Clinic in Luton, Bedfordshire.
