Medical Qualifications

Mr Lester F Wilson qualified in 1982 from University College Hospital Medical School with a Bachelor of Medicine, Bachelor of Surgery degree and furthered his training in 1987 when he was awarded Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons (England). Mr Wilson completed his specialist qualification in 1994 obtaining Fellowship of the Royal College of Surgeons in Orthopaedics.

Medical Experience

Mr Wilson began as a Consultant in Orthopaedics with an interest in Spinal Surgery at the Whittington Hospital in London for seven years before moving to the Royal National Orthopaedic Hospital (RNOH) as a Spinal Surgeon with an specific interest in degenerative conditions of the lumbar spine.

Mr Wilson has been a Board Member of the International Society for Minimally Invasive Spine Surgery (ISMISS) since 2006. He has been a Program Committee Member for the Spine Society of Europe since 2010.  He is a member of the British Association of Spine Surgeons and a member of the British Orthopaedic Association. At present Mr Wilson is available for private appointments at The Wellington Hospital, London, and Spire Hospital, Bushey.

His specialist interests include lumbar spine surgery (excluding cervical or thoracic surgery), revision lumbar spine surgery, lumbar fusions and minimal access lumbar disc replacements; he specialises in the treatment of sciatica.
