Medical Qualifications

Dr James O'Beirne qualified from King's College Hospital in 1995 with a Bachelor of Medicine and Bachelor of Surgery degree. He went on to complete a Medical Doctorate in 2007 at the King's College Hospital Institute of Liver Studies and in the same year was awarded the European Diploma of Intensive Care Medicine.

Medical Experience

Dr O'Beirne is a member of the British Association for Study of Liver, the European Association for Study of Liver and the European Society of Intensive Care Medicine. He is a Consultant Hepatologist at the Royal Free Hospital and Honorary Senior Lecturer at University College London. 

Dr O'Beirne specialises in liver transplantation, complication of liver disease and cirrhosis, acute liver failure, hepatocellular cancer and Endoscopic Retrograde Cholangiopancreatography (ERCP). He is available for private patients at The Wellington Hospital and The Lister Hospital.
