Expert Gynaecologist
After qualifying in 1992, Mr Gardner specialised in the treatment of both benign and malignant gynaecological conditions.
He is trained and qualified in both General Obstetrics and Gynaecology and Gynaecological Oncology.
Mr Gardner has dual accreditation at the GMC.
Senior Consultant
Mr Gardner holds the position of Clinical Director of Gynaecology at Queen Alexandra Hospital Portsmouth within the NHS. His special clinical interests are screening for gynaecological malignancies and advancing the surgical treatment of both benign and malignant gynaecological conditions.
One Stop Gynaecology
Mr Gardner is the lead for a single visit endometrial cancer screening service for women with postmenopausal bleeding. He has also aided in the set up of the colposcopy service. An expert in ambulatory gynaecology (also known as office gynaecology), he is pioneering a single visit menstrual disorder clinic where again women will have the opportunity to have all the investigations and the treatment in the outpatient setting.
In the treatment of Endometrial Cancer, Mr Gardner is expert in Minimal Access Surgical (MAS) Techniques. He has dramatically improved the post-operative recovery of patients reducing inpatient stay from 3-7 days for open surgery to 1-2 days for MAS treated patients.
