Paul Barrett, Counsellor and Psychotherapist
Personal treatment philosophy:
"Counselling and psychotherapy can be a successful way of exploring very personal issues. It’s crucial that you feel comfortable with your therapist and that you can trust and understand the process. "
With experience of helping clients with relationship issues, anger, trauma, loss, stress, anxiety or depression and addictions, Paul Barrett works in an integrative way. This means he creates bespoke therapeutic programmes for his clients, drawing in different forms of therapy most suitable for the particular needs of the individual. This may include conventional psychotherapy as well as more creative ways of working, such as dream analysis.
Addiction issues are a specialty, and Paul Barrett is experienced in working with twelve step programmes such as AA and NA.
Whatever the issues of the client, Paul Barrett’s empathetic and caring style of counselling allows the client to get in touch with whatever is causing the problem, when this happens they can move towards a happier and more fulfilling way of living.
