Medical Qualifications

Mr Andrew Hextall qualified from Birmingham in 1990 and started training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology in Nottingham at the City Hospital and Queen's Medical Centre. This was followed with an MD from the University of London in 2000 and Fellowship of the Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists.

Medical Experience

Mr Hextall is currently a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist and Lead Clinician at West Hertfordshire Hospitals NHS Trust (Watford, Hemel Hempstead, St Albans). He is also a Consultant Gynaecologist at the Spire Hospitals in Bushey, Harpenden and Bishops Wood Hospital.

Following his qualification he worked at Queen Charlotte's Hospital as a Registrar before undertaking 2.5 years of research in Urogynaecology with Professor Linda Cardozo at King's College Hospital. Mr Hextall also undertook additional surgical training in Urogynaecology in Southampton and a three year training programme in laparoscopic and pelvic surgery at the Hammersmith and St Mary's Hospitals, London.

Mr Hextall has a special interest in the treatment of endometriosis and pelvic pain alongside prolapse and incontinence and has performed over 2000 prolapse repairs and incontinence operations since becoming a consultant in 2002.
